Electrolysis

Remove hair permanently with Electrolysis

Electrolysis is the original permanent hair removal method that is suitable for both men and women of all hair colours but is the only permanent solution for grey hairs & red hair. This method is more time consuming as it works by inserting shortwave radio frequencies into each individual hair follicles to stop new hair from growing. We recommend multiple follow-up appointments for the best results.

All about Electrolysis

How many sittings required for electrolysis hair removal?

Generally speaking, you are likely to require between 10 and 14 treatments of intensive electrolysis. The total number of sessions needed to remove hair permanently from a particular area will vary from person to person.

What Is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is a hair removal technique that involves inserting a needle into your skin. An electrical current passes through it, which heats up the tissue surrounding the hair follicle. This damages the follicle and causes it to break, so your hair will fall out.

There’s a noticeable difference in regrowth rates before and after electrolysis. With every electrolysis session, your hair will become noticeably smaller and finer, and it will take much longer for it to grow back. After your treatment is completed, your hair shouldn’t grow back at all! This procedure can be done by electrologists, or dermatologists trained to perform electrolysis.

What areas can you treat?

Most areas of the body can be treated with electrolysis, including the eyebrows, face, abdomen, thighs, breasts, and legs. There are generally no permanent side effects, but sometimes a temporary, slight reddening of the skin may occur.

How painful is electrolysis hair removal?

Descriptions of the discomfort vary from “no worse than a mosquito bite,” to “like having a rubber band snapped against my bare skin hard.” Electrolysis can give a stinging and pricking sensation, and each hair has to go through it.

Does hair have to be present for electrolysis?

Avoid plucking or waxing for 2-3 weeks before, and avoid shaving for 3-5 days before your electrolysis appointment. In order for the needle to follow the hair follicle and more easily remove the hair, there needs to be at least 1/8th of an inch of hair above the surface of the skin

What are the negatives of electrolysis hair removal?

The most common side effects after an electrolysis session are tenderness, redness and some swelling. These side effects are all normal and temporary. If done improperly, electrolysis can cause infection and permanent scarring. Myth #4: Home electrolysis gadgets are just as effective

Does Electrolysis Effectively Remove All Hair Types?

Yes. It doesn’t matter if you have dark or light hair in the chosen area, or if you have light or dark skin. Unlike laser hair removal, which is best for dark hair on light skin, electrolysis will work no matter what your hair and skin colour.
